For the past 17 years, Health Careers Foundation has fortified the workforce by providing scholarships and low-interest loans to men and women wanting to begin careers in healthcare. We’ve provided over $9 million to more than 4,500 future healthcare professionals. Ultimately, they have gone on to ease shortages in nursing, pharmacy, medical transcription, speech pathology, radiology and a host of other allied health professions.
But ours are not run-of-the-mill students. They are underemployed men and women eager to earn more than minimum wage...adults changing careers or entering the workforce for the first time…non-traditional students whose opportunities for financial aid are limited. HCF students represent a new pool of future medical professionals so desperately needed by our 400-plus hospital partners and thousands of other healthcare institutions. They are the nurse, the pharmacist, the radiology technologist capable of saving precious time in the emergency room, at the bedside, at the medical imaging center.
